Rhubarb Pudding Cakes

Last weekend, there was a full crop of rhubarb in my garden just begging to be harvested and made into something delicious.

Pouding à la rhubarbe (or Rhubarb Pudding Cakes, which just does not roll off the tongue as well) is amazing!  Pouding recipes are big in our house - making them makes me want to move back to Québec.  They are the ultimate comfort desserts.  The individual serving sizes of this recipe (they are generous portions) are perfect for serving in ramekins.  I brought my individual poudings to a dinner party and they were very popular.  Ricardo Cuisine has the recipe here.

Note: These definitely bubble over.  The recipe suggests putting the ramekins on a cookie sheet - I would also recommend lining the cookie sheet entirely with parchment paper and then placing the ramkeins on top.  Easier clean up.  Bon appétit!

When the To Do List Seems Neverending

When you have 10 blog posts you are waiting to publish, your floor is covered in laundry, you have multiple projects on the go around the house and you realize you should have only started one of them, when you are so tired you fall asleep at the table, when you wonder if the long days your son spends at daycare are going to have serious long-term consequences, when the projects just keep piling up, and piling up, and piling up......

Make a list of what you need to do.

Set the list aside for another day.

Go snuggle with your baby, treasure the beautiful life you have been given.  Get some sleep.

And on that note....new blog posts are coming.  The cooking continues - just a little slow getting things posted.
